Annual Report to the Community

May 16, 2024 | 5-7pm

Program available online via zoom.

It’s that time of year again…the Minnesota Marine Art Museum (Winona, Minnesota) joins the more than 37,000 museums in 158 countries and territories worldwide to mark International Museum Day -  “...a global effort to raise awareness that museums are an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples.”  (International Council of Museums).

We will gather to share how our mission-based work as a visual arts museum has impacted the audiences we serve, announce a few highlights to look out for in the coming year, and acknowledge the individuals and partners who made it all possible. We will underscore the pivotal role of cultural institutions in providing a holistic educational experience, focusing on building a more conscious, sustainable, and inclusive world, for all!

The evening’s program will include formal remarks from MMAM’s Executive Director, delicious savory appetizers from the culinary team at Blooming Grounds, and a special preview of MMAM’s new exhibition project, Fluid: What is Marine Art, and What Can It Be? Also, get a peek inside MMAM’s new Studio Arts Program efforts and try your hand at dyeing with indigo and weaving cloth on a floor loom at the drop-in Weaving Water Workshop by artist Sarah Nassif.
