The Minnesota Marine Art Museum (MMAM) and Liatris Records proudly present an album release event for Perihelion Day by upup/OVER at MMAM on Sunday, May 19 at 7pm.
MMAM will host a public Weaving Water Workshop on Saturday May 18 from 3:00-5:00pm. Registration is preferred, but not required. Drop in and become a part of a pop-up public indigo and fiber art studio designed by Minneapolis artist Sarah Nassif. Sarah and her Weaving Water Workshops create space for people to gather, play with natural dye and fiber, and share personal connections to textile traditions, water bodies and the Mississippi River.
Learn the basics of natural dyeing and fiber art skills with MMAM exhibiting artist, Karen Goulet (White Earth Ojibwe Nation/Métis), Dr. Tammy Greer (Houma), and Weaving Water Workshop founder, Sarah Nassif.
On May 16, 2024 we will gather to share the impact our mission-based work as a nonprofit visual arts museum had with the audiences we serve, announce a few highlights to look out for in the coming year, and acknowledge the individuals and partners who made it all possible, all the while underscoring the pivotal role of cultural institutions in providing a holistic educational experience, focusing on building a more conscious, sustainable, and inclusive world, for all!

SPARK! at Minnesota Marine Art Museum is a unique, free program designed specifically for people with memory loss and their care partners. SPARK! programs offer participants an opportunity to enhance their quality of life through social engagement, mental stimulation, and communication.
